Following on from a very successful SMM Hamburg Exhibition where Victor Marine showcased once more one of their finest products: the “CS Lite” Oily Water Separator unit, the company are delighted to announce further successful orders gained since SMM, not only from the Indian market where Victor Marine have been a major player for many years, but also currently from territories such as Russia, Egypt, Singapore and China.
The product was originally designed after Victor Marine’s in-house Engineering & Technical Team were approached regarding reducing size and weight of OWS by one of their esteemed customers. The Victor Team thereby faced the challenge of designing and building a lightweight version of their already very successful CS Series range of separators, in order to meet with the customer’s end-use requirements for weight, size and function, all without jeopardising ultimate vessel speed.
Tasked with producing a separator weighing no more than 215 Kgs (dry weight) Victor Marine went on to produce a fully functional aluminium separator weighing only 170 Kgs (dry weight) which is an incredible 30% reduction in the finished weight of a standard CS Series unit. It should be noted that this reduction in weight also surpassed the customer’s original indicated requirement.
These OWS units have filled a gap and been welcomed by the market with each unit produced and supplied winning high praise of the smaller craft market such as workboats, superyachts, fast patrol vessels, offshore service vessels and passenger ferries. These lightweight units, which are USCG and Bureau Veritas Type Approved, have now been added to Victor Marine’s range of products and the CS Lite is now in full production at Victor Marine’s UK site, with units recently being supplied to the UK and European yacht-building sector. Other Certification such as RMRS, CCS, NKK and ABS are also available with the unit.
All Victor Marine’s OWS units are approved to MEPC 107(49) regulations and have also been approved by DNV’s 5 ppm “Clean Design” Notation which can be supplied inclusive with units thereby making vessels “future-proofed” regarding any proposed IMO regulatory changes in the future.
